A handful of Jamaican legends come together to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Jamaican independence. Featuring the brilliant, unflashy guitar veteran Ranglin, whose incisive, bluesy sound has graced hundreds of Studio Two reggae tracks, London-based jazz sessions and many funk groups. Plus Alexander, one of the great piano showmen who blends stride, boogie, Latin, gospel, calypso and reggae sources, with touches of Oscar Peterson and nods towards the Jamaican jazz fusion of Ranglin and the Skatalites.
