Few can match the maturity and coherence of this young band's incredibly lucid vision of what an acoustic jazz band should sound like today. Empirical are one of the most exciting ensembles on the current jazz scene, combining four young and incredibly talented musicians: saxophonist Nathaniel Facey, vibraphonist Lewis Wright, drummer Shaney Forbes and bassist Tom Farmer, who all display unrivalled zest and verve for the music.
