A discussion chaired by Peter Wiegold and Oliver Butterworth, co-directors of the Brunel Institute for Contemporary Middle Eastern Music. They are joined by four acclaimed Lebanese contemporary composers: Abdalla El Masri, Houtaf Khoury, Bushra El Turk and Toufic Succar.

The discussion covers the development of orchestras and chamber ensembles in the Middle East with particular reference to Qatari, Jordanian, Lebanese, Egyptian, Syrian and Omani symphony orchestras, and also the teaching of music composition in Middle Eastern Universities and Conservatoires.
