Dead Combo perform Portuguese folk with a distinct Morricone bent, complementing their cinematic albums with a swarthy underworld chic. They have a post-modern sense of humour rare among Fado enthusiasts – they once invited a Finnish band, also called Dead Combo, to play a 'Dead Combo Vs Dead Combo' musical face-off. They're supported by Lisbon acoustic guitarist Lobo at this event (with food and wine) organised by The Portuguese Conspiracy, whose aim is to 'contaminate London with the richness of an amazing and vibrant Portuguese contemporary culture'.
