Being a finalist on a TV talent show may not be the coolest entrance into rock, but it's how US musician Chris Daughtry found his way into the music biz, and he seems to have done OK. Formed after Daughtry's 'American Idol' stint in 2006, the band are of the Nickelback pained-melodic-riffing school of rock – with added radio-friendly synths – and have hit the top of the US album charts several times. Get those lighters out and ready to wave along as Daughtry bares his troubled soul.
