David Temple conducts the celebrated CEFC as they sing for 12 hours straight, as part of their campaign to fund the first English version in 40 years of Bach’s ‘St John Passion’. The marathon programme includes the same composer’s ‘Magnificat’ plus works by Elgar, Beethoven, Vaughan Williams and Fauré, a mass rendition of Handel’s ‘Messiah’, and solo and chamber music break-out sessions to give the main ensemble a breather. The concert is free to attend, but you can sponsor the whole choir or individual singers in their epic undertaking.
