A highly promising guitarists double bill of self-declared folk minimalism and psychedelic appalachia from, respectively, Oakland, CA composer Johnson and 22-year-old Fredericksburg, Virginia musician Bachman. Johnson, who soundtracked Brett Ingram's acclaimed documentary 'Monster Road', will be playing from new album 'Crows In The Basilica', which draws on raga improvisations, Chinese melodies and Piedmont fingerstyle blues. Bachman's 2012 album 'Seven Pines' is influenced by the work of 'American Primitive' guitarists, building crisp, stirring layers from his lonely steel-string.
