Charles McPherson Quartet

Progressive hard bop saxophonist and famous disciple of Charlie Parker, who provided the Parker impersonations on the soundtrack to Clint Eastwood's bio-pic 'Bird'. Pianist Bud Powell was another mentor, and McPherson's complete immersion within classic bebop gives him a historical grounding shared by few other contemporary players. Joined by a fine UK trio with Barry Green on piano, this is the second of four nights.
