Offering music, literary talks and summer delights, Caught By The River Thames is a genteel new festival for the capital. Indie favourites Low and Super Furry Animals play headline sets and there’s an eclectic support bill: freaky jazz from Mulatu Astatke, offbeat singer-songwriters Beth Orton, Darren Hayman, Ryley Walker and Gwenno, and even a symphony performed by human musicians and thousands of bees.
Beyond the music lies a strong literary line-up including Kate Tempest, Amy Liptrot, Chris Packham and leading poet Don Paterson, and international food stalls and the Ten Mile Beer Festival will be on hand for refreshments of all sorts. All in all, a very attractive prospect for a sunny August weekend.
