Brian Culbertson

Charismatic, flashy, high energy US trombonist/keyboardist Culbertson may be a star of bland 'n' bloodless smooth jazz radio, but to his credit his live shows are packed with excitement and see him – mawkish ballads aside – pile on the jazz and funk style. He's here with a fine UK band that features Jools Holland/Sax Appeal tenor dynamo Derek Nash and a kicking rhythm section on the last of five nights.
