Aziza Brahim

A Saharawi from Western Sahara whose sound is as nomadic as its maker, Brahim sings accompanied by her own minimal t'bal (skin drum) percussion and electric guitarist Gonzalo Tascon. Her politically and socially conscious songs fuse desert blues with Latin rhythms and Afrobeat, and draw on her experiences in the Algerian refugee camp where she was born.
