Academy of Ancient Music: Angels and Saints

Taking inspiration from Dante’s Divine Comedy, and having already explored the theme of darkness, Academy of Ancient Music leader Pavlo Beznosiuk and principal second violin Bojan Čičić turn their attention to visions of the spirit world and the promise of the after-life. Includes music by Vejvanovsky, Manfredini and Biber, with illustrations from artist Monika Beisner. A pre-concert discussion ‘From Darkness to Light’ explores how light and dark are manifest in music, art and literature.
