As if you needed telling, acid house has come back in a major way over the last couple of years. Everyone from Boys Noize to Death In Vegas has been revelling in gurgling 303 basslines and charged, tech beats – making this celebration of the early years of acid a very timely event indeed. Launching Richard Sen's 'This Ain't Chicago' compilation for Strut (which documents the sound of UK acid from 1987-91), expect DJs Noel Watson (Delirium), Hannah Holland and Dan Beaumont, Kid Batchelor and Sen himself to spin classics and rarities from that halcyon age. There'll also be a live performance of A Guy Called Gerald's Peter Cook-sampling acid anthem 'Voodoo Ray', a screening of Gordon Mason's 'They Call It Acid' documentary as well as an exhibition of scene-capturing photographs taken by former Time Out Clubbing editor Dave Swindells. Hugely recommended.
