Taking place in various venues around Newbury – situated in Berkshire, and a short train journey or drive from London – the programme of this annual fortnight-long festival leans heavily towards classical performance, with a generous helping of jazz alongside. There's a cinematic theme to the festival year, and as such you can catch screenings of classic films like 'Vertigo' and 'Psycho' over the two weeks. Performance-wise, you can hear the Calefax Reed Quintet interpreting Schuman, a recital from Russian pianist Mikhail Kazakevich, the Endellion String Quartet performing Mozart and Ravel, a homeage to Frank Sinatra from Gary Williams, jazz vocalist Claire Martin and even cabaret from Kit & McConnel, plus much more.
