This huge and varied behemoth of an event stretches out over 12 venues across a Swiss municipality, taking in offerings from blues, rock, pop and hip hop as well as pretty much every form of jazz imaginable, from beard-stroking freeform whig-outs to soulful, smoky performances to contemporary fusion. The line-up is a bewildering mix of super-hot new talent and old veterans, but the main draw is that Lycra-loving multi-instrumental modern funk overlord Prince is playing – and really, what more do you need to know?
