Here lies the remains of the Tottenham sewage treatment works, which doesn't sound very glamorous, but is nonetheless pretty fascinating if you’re into that sort of thing. The Grade II listed Beam Pumping Engine is a hulking, steam-powered Victorian feat of engineering which remained in use until 1964. It’s since been restored, and sits at the heart of a museum celebrating all things sanitary.
