The museum is based in the historic buildings and grounds of Headstone Manor, a Grade I-listed medieval estate. The moated fourteenth-century manor house, originally home to the Archbishop of Canterbury, can be visited on guided tours (Apr 2-Oct 30 2011 Sat & Sun, 3pm; £3). There's also a tithe barn dating from 1506, an 18th-century granary and a small 16th-century barn.
