Go back in time to September 1940 as the Royal Air Force Museum commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain across a weekend of family-friendly events. There will be a flypast from a Spitfire and a Hurricane, costumed actors bringing 'our finest hour' to life, 1940s cabaret and living history zones. Other activities include a chance to watch archive footage, story-telling, crochet activities, lectures and guided tours of the museum, where artefacts can be handled and uniforms worn. A special exhibition gives insight into the Merlin engine with a working example.
Note: for a rare opportunity to see all of the RAF Museum's Battle of Britain aircraft, see the Our Finest Hour evening event.
