Time Out says

London hosts World Pride, with a procession (not 'parade') through the West End organised by Pride London with support from Visit London and the Mayor of London. The procession will go down Regent Street and through Piccadilly Circus, ending in Trafalgar Square, where there'll be speakers and performers including Peter Tatchell, Boy George, Deborah Cox, Corey Hart and The Supreme Fabulettes. Sponsors include Tesco, Smirnoff, Barlaycard and British Airways.

Following reports of Pride facing a funding shortfall and scaling down this year's event, Pride London have issued the following statement: 'World Pride celebrations will go ahead this Saturday on a smaller scale than originally planned. Everyone wants to see a safe, enjoyable event, which is why it is starting and finishing earlier than in previous years. Anyone joining the procession should be in Portman Square by 10am and be ready to set off at 11am. In the interest of safety, there will be no floats or vehicles in the procession. The celebration in Trafalgar Square will finish at 6pm. As with other large scale events, access will be restricted if it reaches capacity. There are also no planned street events in Soho and people should not go there expecting open air entertainment. Normal licensing will be in place and bars are expected to be extremely crowded, with limited capacity. People are urged to follow the advice being given to ensure a safe and successful Pride.'
