As immortalised in the film 'The Killing of Sister George', the Gateways was London's most iconic queer venue from the '50s to the '80s. This Pride weekend, Duckie are celebrating the mixed basement club's heritage with a night of performance devoted to the strict butch/femme divisions the club thrived on, promising 'illegitimate entertainment' from Ursula Martinez, Jess Love, the Eggs Collective and Figs in Wigs, plus sideshows from Lucille Power, Sue Frumin, Open Barbers and the Drakes. Amy Lame and the Readers Wifes will be on hand too, of course. Dress code: '50s-'80s, butch or femme. No in-betweeners!
