The first purpose-built Maggie’s Centre in England was opened in 2008. A flexible space, designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners to be welcoming and uplifting, the Centre is open (9am-5pm Mon-Fri) to anyone affected by cancer in the capital. Building on the passion for landscape architecture of Maggie’s founder, Maggie Keswick Jencks, Maggie’s London is surrounded by a garden and series of courtyards designed by Dan Pearson. The building, which won a RIBA award in 2009, takes part in Open House London weekend in September.
For Open House London 2014, Maggie's Centre will be open on Sunday September 21, 12pm-4pm (last entry 3.30pm). There will be VocalEyes audio-described tours for blind and partially-sighted visitors; book online at here or call 020 7375 1043.
