World Book Day, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, is marked in over 100 countries. In the UK, all primary school children and certain secondary and preschools receive a £1 book token which can be exchanged for one of eight specially-produced World Book Day books, or used to receive a £1 discount on any book or audio book. In 2016 the titles include 'Kipper's Visitor', Roald Dahl's 'The Great Mouse Plot', David Baddiel's 'The Boy Who Could Do What He Liked' and James Dawson's 'Spot the Difference'.
