The London Wetlands Centre in Barnes is the place to be for any excitable nature enthusiasts this half term, thanks to their jam-packed, fun-filled, bird-theme week. Families will have a unique chance to get up close and witness some of the UK’s stunning wildlife during The Big Hideout, as the charity’s hides will be transformed for bird-watching and bird-themed activities, with bird spotter sheets and binoculars supplied. But that’s not all – there’s otter talks on twice a day, wintry art activities inspired by Quentin Blake’s iconic illustrations, as well as some children’s playgrounds for a good old run-around. Entry is free for members and kids under four, but otherwise book your tickets in advance.
