There's a lot to like about this east London hotel. Firstly, it's got a great waterfront location with a rooftop terrace offering some pretty gobsmacking views out across the Docklands. Plus it's close to the ExCeL Centre and not much further from Canary Wharf and London City Airport. Plus it's not hugely expensive, at around £100 for smart, minimalist rooms, with dock- or waterside views.
But perhaps the best bit? It's a social enterprise that offers training to the unemployed (and possible future long-term work), as well as reinvesting all of its profits into its staff and the local community. So that'll be a nice thought to think when you're drifting off for a lovely night's sleep.
Plus there's free wi-fi, good-looking modern rooms (think industrial combined with Dutch design classics), locally-sourced food and drinks served in The Living Room, a 24-hour front desk and a concierge service.
