There’s nothing flashy about this new-build hotel, but it is well run, neatly designed and obliging: the rooms have all the added extras you’d want (CD/DVD library, broadband, iMac that doubles as a flatscreen TV) and the floor-to-ceiling windows mean that river-facing suites on the 12th and 13th floors have superb night views – when the businessmen go home for the weekend you might grab one for £125.
With half an eye on near-neighbour Tate Britain, the owners have collaborated with the Chelsea College of Art to provide changing art through the lobbies and meeting rooms; outside the unconvincing City Café, you can sit on a Ron Arad chair.
