Time Out says

Trevor Sorbie is a trusted name for high quality cuts. The salon has occupied the same Floral Street spot since 1979, when it was established by celeb hairdresser Sorbie, who became an MBE in 2004. The space has undoubtedly changed since its early '80s heyday – today, it's sleek, bright, and sprawling, offering cut-and-blowdries (from £62) as well as nail and beauty treatments over two spacious floors.

I booked a colour session (prices from £48) with star stylist Nathan, who's worked for the brand for over two decades. Infinitely professional, Nathan understood what I wanted immediately, and even suggested products that would improve the condition of my hair – in this case, a hydrating OlaPlex treatment. The cut was with stylist Caroline, who was equally slick and patient with my very specific (read: anal) instructions on how I like my fringe shaped. Thanks to the combined efforts of these two, I left with a natural-looking, super-glossy mane.

This is a refreshingly fad-free salon with a wealth of experience behind it – a reliable bet for a 'do that'll get you compliments. Not in Central? Try one of the two other locations in Richmond and Hampstead.
