Jennifer Lopez is so eternally beautiful that you can’t help but wonder whether she’s been pickled. She almost certainly hasn’t but rumour has it that she does have a CACI machine in her house – which fills me with all kinds of confidence as I head for my ‘CACI Synergy Facial' – a non-sugical facelift in Soho’s Seduire.
With one beady-eye on medical developments, the beauty industry is always on the lookout for technological advancements that can be put to more aesthetic use. And so it is with the CACI machine; using technology developed to treat stoke victims and sufferers of facial palsy, it uses micro current energy to retrain facial muscles, restoring tone and elasticity. Which might sound a little alarming, but with the lovely, friendly therapists in the dinky salon, it’s not in the least bit scary.
Less about chilling-out with the slathering on of various creams, and more based in actual science, it’s not terribly relaxing, but it is effective. A couple if wands are moved around your face, the micro-currents targeting muscle tone while LED light therapy deals with other imperfections. If your misspent youth involved scoffing even half the Haribo that mine did – and you have the fillings to prove it – you’ll probably get a metallic taste in your mouth, which is pretty gross but well worth it because you’ll leave the salon with a genuinely brighter, tighter skin – almost a teenage you, but without the angst.
