Let Cinema Go To Its Ruin: The Cinema of Marguerite Duras

Advertising

Time Out says

French filmmaker (and novelist and playwright) Marguerite Duras was beloved by fellow cinephiles, but has yet to receive much mainstream recognition. This summer, though, the ICA will host the first major retrospective of her work in the UK, shining a light on an underrated auteur. Across the run, all 19 of her films will be screened on 35mm, while films by the likes of Jean-Luc Goddard, Absis, Tony Richardson and more will also be shown. Between screenings, you’ll be able to attend talks from a series of guest speakers, who’ll help you get deeper into the mind of Duras.
