Time Out says

Experience a bit of the seaside's traditionally eclectic mix of entertainment in the heart of the city with this week-long festival of music, spoken word, film, comic performance, crafts, theatre and outdoor events. There's something for all ages and interests, from an under-fives picnic and workshop at Manor Gardens (June 7, 12-2pm) to a twenty-first century tea dance at the Old Fire Station (June 6 2-4pm). Other highlights include the Mayton Street Festival, (June 1), with music from Global Local bands, a pop-up tea party, performances, workshops and a range of stalls; a conference on the arts (June 3) for anyone interested in the arts being for everyone; Big Day Out (June 8) with arts and crafts, dance, free workshops and a music stage programmed by the Lovebuzz Project, and a hunt for Holloway's Lost Cinemas in a walk with artist Sam Nightingale (June 8). See the website for the full programme, and note that some of the events require tickets and/or advance booking.
