London Fashion Week 2012

Brace yourselves, London. The world's fashion press, buying teams and bloggers are hitting town this February for London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2012. Look out for the big white British Fashion Council coaches and customised cabs blocking the streets outside popular show venues Somerset House, Billingsgate Market and The Royal Academy. If you're a street style fan you won't see more fashionable finery than that worn by those tottering in and out of these vehicles – and expect to see fashion week stalwarts Alexa Chung, Anna Wintour and Emmanuelle Alt among them. If you're part of the pack, make sure you make it to Stella McCartney's 'special presentation' on Saturday Feb 18 – a preview of a one-off collection celebrating London ahead of her A/W preview proper at Paris's Fashion Week in March – and plan your diary around big hitters including Christopher Kane, Matthew Willamson and Burberry. For those whose invites are lost in the post, shops and designers all around London are hosting a stack of fashiony events for style civilians, from a talk with fashion editor Anna Della Russo, to pop-up boutiques and markets.
