British composer Thomas Adès conducts the Britten Sinfonia in this show featuring his own work and new dance at Sadler's Wells. Adès's music accompanies pieces from Karole Armitage, Wayne McGregor, Arthur Pite and Alexander Whitley. McGregor's 'Outlier' is remounted following its European premiere in a co-production with 11 dancers from the Royal Ballet Flanders. Armitage's contemporary duet 'Life Story' is performed by two dancers to Adès's work based on words by Tennessee Williams, while Pite and Whitley offer up world premieres of pieces 'The Grit in the Oyster' (Whitley) and a 66 dancer piece from Pite made in response to Adès's 'Polaris'. The makings of a varied, enriching evening.
