Radiohead's Phil Selway and artist Gerhard Richter are just some of the cultural heavyweights who have teamed up with Rambert Dance Company for an uber-exciting series of evenings this June. Selway has composed new music and Richter offered art and designs to be used throughout this 'Event', a genre of performance started by US choreographer Merce Cunningham. Here, RDC will perform in their brand new and lovely headquarters on the Southbank and the audience will be free to move around the building. The company will perform sections from ten Cunningham works but it should be that no two evenings will be the same. RDC will perform sections from ten Cunningham works, arranged and staged by Janet Steele a former Cunningham dancer. RDC are the first company to stage an Event since Cunningham's company closed in 2011 following the choreographer's death in 2008.
