Choregrapher Erik Kaiel’s work is full of tumbles, jumps and contortions that are inspired by the way that kids play. He's assembled a programme of three works as part of Dance Umbrella, which will play at various venues through the festival.
'Tetris' is an unorthodox piece based on the '80s-tastic video game: four dancers become an interlocking unit that zips round the stage. Ages six-plus. 'No Man is an Island' is a duet that's toured the world, also suitable for ages six-plus. And 'O Snap!' is a dance story of teenage drama and the difficulty of being ruled by emotions, for ages ten-plus.
