Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch: Palermo, Palermo

A major season of works by pioneering choreographer Pina Bausch. Part of the Cultural Olympiad, the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch: World Cities 2012 season will see ten works performed over one month, each produced during a residency in a different city in the world between the years 1986 and 2009 – the year of Bausch's death. 'Palermo, Palermo' is one of Bausch's better-known works, from 1989, and features a typical parade of striking scenes, absurd rituals and heightened characters, played out amidst a stageful of rubble.
