Spartacus

Bolshoi Ballet are charging into Royal Opera House's summer line-up with 'Spartacus', a fierce  Russian classic. Khachaturian’s exhilarating music provides the soundtrack for this narrative of gladiator Spartacus's uprising in ancient Rome. Choreographer Yuri Grigorovich’s production is a chance for the Bolshoi's male dancers to showcase their talents at their most macho and physical, with sword-waving battle scenes and ever-so-slightly kitsch military Roman pageantry galore.
