CANCELLED: 'Seven Deadly Sins' is being replaced by 'THREE/8.38.SEVEN', a night of Weimar-inspired dance starring Viviana Durante, and choreographed by Javier de Frutos
Luscious-voiced cabaret star Meow Meow and Royal Ballet principle Laura Morera are lending their talents to this enticing-looking night of dance and music. 'Seven Deadly Sins' began life as a collaboration between German theatre legends Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht, who are best known for 'The Threepenny Opera'. Each of its seven parts is set in a different city, in a structure that mirrors its authors' travels as they fled the Nazis in '30s Europe. Now, this darkly satirical work is being reimagined by groundbreaking choreographer Kenneth MacMillan, who's known for raw, psychologically intense works like 'Anastasia'.
Viviana Durante will direct the 'Seven Deadly Sins', working with a substantial cast that includes five singers, 14 dancers, and a band. The work gets its world premiere at Wilton's Music Hall; a suitably lavish setting for its decadent themes.
