Screening: The Nutcracker

A live relay of the Royal Ballet's production of 'The Nutcracker', beamed from the Royal Opera House to cinemas all over London. With HD film and surround sound, it's kind of like being there, except you can munch on popcorn till your heart's content. These multi-camera productions offer a better view of the dancers than if you were sitting in the cheap seats at the theatre although you might miss the sense of occasion the Opera House offers. Roberta Marquez dances the Sugar Plum Fairy and Steven McRae is the Prince. CInemas in all the major chains are taking part, including Odeon, Vue, Cineworld and Picturehouse, plus there are screenings at the Electric in Notting Hill and Rich Mix in Bethnal Green.
