Royal Ballet of Flanders

A technically excellent and artistically daring company, the Royal Ballet of Flanders were last seen here in William Forsythe's 'Impressing the Czar'. They return with another Forsythe classic, 'Artifact', the first work the choreographer created after becoming director of Ballet Frankfurt in 1984, and one of the ballets that cemented him as a great innovator of twentieth century dance. Lean legs flying, off-piste angles and a lot of (occasionally confusing) theatrical flourish is the order of the day.
