Returning to Kings Place is an extended run of 'Not So Silent Movies', devised by Philip Sheppard and Geoff Muncey. The event revives the old movie house tradition of the lone pianist improvising to on-screen antics but gives it a savvy contemporary twist with an array of top musicians. Sheppard describes it as 'Whose Line is it Anyway? meets chamber music'. The rules dictate that there must be no rehearsal, no sheet music and that the players must not have seen the films ahead of the show. The line up is: Sep 30: Jarvis Cocker, composer Dario Marianelli and guitarist John Etheridge; Oct 28: author Brian Selznick and composer Stephen Warbeck; Dec 2: percussionists Evelyn Glennie and Talvin Singh.
