Part of the London 2012 Festival (formerly known as the Cultural Olympiad), a hugely ambitious and exciting collaboration between the Royal Ballet and the National Gallery, based around three Titian paintings. The project features no fewer than seven choreographers: Wayne McGregor, Christopher Wheeldon, Alastair Marriott, Kim Brandstrup, Liam Scarlett, Will Tuckett and Jonathan Watkins. Between them they will be creating three new works, inspired by Titian's paintings, which themselves are inspired by scenes in Ovid's 'Metamorphosis'. At the same time, artists Mark Wallinger, Chris Ofili and Conrad Shawcross will be creating new work for the gallery and designing the sets for the performances.
