A new work by Emanuel Gat, 'Brilliant Corners' is inspired by Thelonius Monk's album of the same name but set to a score by Gat himself. Seeing Gat's work is like having a bit of quiet time; a chance to sit and have a bit of a think – which is not a bad way to spend an hour in the theatre. This is not dance that's in your face, but dance that gives you the option to choose your own way through it, to look for patterns, details and paralells as it plays out almost indifferent to the audience's presence. You might find that fascinating, intriguing and profound. Or you might find it boring. Only one way to find out.
