Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan: Nine Songs/Rice

The magical Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan returns to London with their piece based around classical Chinese poems by Qu Yuan. This contemporary piece weaves past and present and is directed by Lin Hwai-Min. Coupled with this is the UK premiere of 'Rice' which has been created as part of the company's 40th birthday celebrations and is inspired by the landscape of Chihshang and features folksongs in Hakka - the oldest existing Chinese dialect.
