Nightclub, street and stage come together as choreographer Blanca Li mixes Parisian electro dance with contemporary dance and theatre in 'Elektro Kif'. Spanish-born, France-based Li has worked in a plethora of styles and genres in the past, taking in ballet, flamenco, hip hop, roller skating, BMX biking, film and more, but for this piece she was inspired by electro, a street dance trend born in Paris nightclubs in the early 2000s. A cast of eight dancers blend breaking, disco, voguing, popping and locking, dancing to a specially commissioned score that takes in techno, Afrobeat, electro, house and classical music. Sounds like a blast.
