Only five performances for this Royal Ballet triple bill, which features one of the best ballets of the twentieth century (so says Time Out), Bronislava Nijinska's 'Les Noces'. Set to a stirring Stravinsky score, it's the story of a Russian peasant wedding realised through powerful choreography with modernist and constructivist flourishes. Made in 1923 it still looks radical now. On top of that there are two Frederick Ashton works, the pretty, classical display of 'A Birthday Offering' (1956) and the domestic drama of 'A Month in the Country' (1976), based on the Ivan Turgenev play of the same name.
