Ballroom of Joys and Sorrows

A new production by choreographer Kate Flatt that transforms its auditorium into a magical ballroom. The show follows a journey through life, passing characters including the wise woman, the jester and a ballad singer. Drawing on English and Brazilian dance and music, with the help of Brazilian musician Adriano Adewale, Flatt – who has previously worked on major musicals such as 'Les Miserables' and in theatre – looks at dance as a ritual and as an ingredient of social integration.
