We love this madass Aussie surrealist – he's relentlessly silly. 'Death of a Sails-Man' bagged Sam Simmons his second Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, and Simmons's show was by far the most out-there on the nominees list. He plays Phil, a muesli salesman lost at sea on a windsurfing board. As the days pass his mind deteriorates and all manner of oddities and hallucinations take place. It’s ridiculously good fun, with Simmons often breaking character to critique his own ludicrous thoughts.
