2012's Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award winning clowning sensation Doctor Brown is back at his spiritual home, the Soho Theatre, performing his trilogy of shows including the gong-bagging 'Befrdfgth'. Brown – the creation of American Phil Burgers – trained at the acclaimed Philippe Gaulier clowning school, and now runs his own clowning courses. On stage, his largely silent mix of unnerving audience participation, dark ideas and downright absurdism is utterly thrilling and relentlessly funny. Check the dates below for the full show schedule. Here's a quick summary of his three offerings…
Because
When Doctor Brown hit the Edinburgh Fringe back in 2010 with 'Because' nobody had really heard of him, but the show quickly became one of the most talked-about comedies at the fest. It's Brown at his most chaotic.
Becaves
His follow-up to 'Because' is slightly less anarchic, but more consistent and inventive.
Befrdfgth
This is the big 'un. Superbly constructed, slow-burning routines, and a killer finale. As well as the Foster's Award, 'Befrdfgth' won the Melbourne Comedy Festival's Barry Award and a Total Theatre Award in 2012.
