As any arts-lover knows, Battersea Arts Centre was severely fire-damaged recently – a whole third of the building is now unusable, including the beautiful Grand Hall. This benefit gig at the Southbank Centre is raising money to help BAC get back on track, and features a spectacular line-up of comedy, music and theatre.
As well as sets from British comedy greats Stewart Lee, Arthur Smith, Tim Key and Bridget Christie, there's a rare spot from Mackenzie Crook, who hasn't performed live comedy since his pre-Gareth days. Plus Perrier Award-winner Will Adamsdale revives his Jackson's Way character, theatrical performances from Toby Jones, Lemn Sissay and Forced Entertainment, and music from the BAC Beatbox Academy, Kneehigh Band, and songs from Stewart Lee's 'Jerry Springer the Opera'.
