It's been ten years since the late, great Malcolm Hardee – dubbed the godfather of alternative comedy – died. Hardee was a maverick comedy legend. As owner of the anarchic (and terrifying for comedians) Tunnel Club, and later Up the Creek, he spotted future comedy greats when they were just newbie comics, often introducing them by saying, 'This next act's probably a bit shit'.
This gig at Up the Creek is both to celebrate his life and raise funds for a Hardee documentary. The line-up includes a revived version of comedy troupe the Greatest Show on Legs (which Hardee used to be part of), plus Clare Hardee's Can Can Troupe, Terry Alderton, Martin Soan, John Robertson, Jayde Adams, Bob Slayer, Owen O'Neill, Joz Norris, Candi Gigi, Darren Maskell, Cheekykita and The Widow (half of Kit and the Widow). And don't be surprised if a few big-name special guests make a surprise appearance.
