Street Sounds – Summer Ball

Street Sounds, the prolific UK label that helped popularise various emerging electronic and alternative genres from the US in the '80s and '90s (particularly the blending of hip hop and electro) through its countless compilations, is holding a summer ball packed with four rooms of classic US sounds throughout Elephant and Castle's Coronet. Four huge headline acts – hip hop pioneers and 'Rapper's Delight' creators Sugarhill Gang, soul/funk band Rose Royce, disco-funk act Crown Heights Affair and golden-voiced R&B crooner Fonda Rae – rub shoulders with a wealth of DJs who'll be setting the scene, including Chad Jackson, Jazzy M, Scott James, Tony Fernandez, Frostie, and Ralph Tee.
